The Bible has different names for the word of God, such as commandments, precepts, statutes, Law and so on. Ask your little one(s) what they call it.
For me, the word of God is God’s love letter to us. It teaches us how to know Him, follow Him and obey Him.
Psalm 119 tells us more about the word of God and its benefits. It shows us its nature, power and value, and why we should crave and pursue it.
The word of God is our daily guide. Psalm 119:33 (NLT) says “Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.”
We need God’s word to guide us when we make decisions for ourselves or our children, so that we don’t end up in trouble, regret or sin.
The Bible shows us how to live and what to do. Psalm 119:105 says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path”, meaning that the word of God directs our way. If it says no, then we say no, even if majority say yes. If it says yes, then we say yes, even if we face challenges. God does not lie, His word is for our good.
May we depend on the word of God as we journey through life.
Stay Blessed!
